Superb large vintage Matson jewelry casket with thick beveled glass panels…
Fashioned of brass with ormolu finish, this large, richly detailed jewelry casket features a floral rose motif with greenery, showcasing five thick beveled glass panels (top, sides, & front) which are anchored via tiny dentil-like filigree teeth.  The bottom has a tufted camel-tone velveteen lining with a diamond pattern delineated by tiny brass pins.  Sits elevated on 4 sturdy, ornate, scrolled feet with roses & greenery and is finished off with a decorative scrolled rose tab which opens & closes the door smoothly. Signed “Matson” on the inner aspect of the feet. This large casket has a beautiful, warm, rich patina acquired naturally over time…
Generously proportioned, measures overall ~7 inches wide, ~7 inches deep, ~5 inches tall, and finished all around.
In overall very good condition considering age with age-expected dustiness, mild soilage, very fine superficial scratches with patination to the metal and a few age-expected tiny spots along the finish.  The velveteen bottom appears hardly used, and has very mild soilage.  It is loosened, and can be easily reattached or left as.  Please enlarge photos for details.
